Hi there everyone, im rubbish and havnt been on the forum for around 4 months now, due to work and lack of time, but we all know theres no excuse! So as ive missed it, hope you all had a good christmas and are having a good new year so far!
I thought because i havnt been on here for a while i would enter back with abit of a crazy long thread of hopefully will be of help to some of you.
So get your cup (or should i say pot) of tea, and hope you enjoy the write up!

Here in this post i am going to show your the perfect and correct way on how to clean your mercedes benz.Like i said hopefully you might learn something, or maybe i'll learn something from you.But here we have my 2002 mercedes c32 AMG with 68,000 on the clock.

To start with i thought i would do a complete interior detail. This will consist of:

-Complete leather interior shampoo
-Complete trim and plastic APC
-Complete leather butter rub
-Complete trim and plastic protection
-Complete detailed Hoover
-Inside glass polished
-Lots of hours and dedication

To start with, i chose my tools for the job!

At a quick glace my interior really isn't that bad, as im a bit of a clean freak, but it hadnt been touched since october last year and this was the back.

Right to begin with i mix some supernatural to use to rinse my detailing brush and autoglym scrubbing pad.

This is the leather shampoo made by leather clinic.

I then use the wet detailing brush, and spray the shampoo straight onto the head of the brush. This is due to the fact that i have my shampoo in the trigger sprat neat, this way when i spray it onto the brush and scrub it self foams.

Then all rear trims get the same treatment but with megs APC.

This was then left to dwel for a few moments and then dryed off with a autoglm interior microfibre. Now while the leather was drying out properly, it was time to protect and seal all interior trim and plastics. For this i use valet pro protector and dodo juice mr pink interior mitt. This is just rubed on and seals the clean trim giving it a matt finish.

This left the trim loking like so.

Then it was onto protecting the leather. For this i used the leather clinic butter rub.Though from smell it is abit funny, but it works unbelievably well and leaves your leather interior smelling like it does when it comes from the factory.

This is applied to the upholstery and is left to cure until completly dry.You could give a one hour cure time and then use them, but i would personally leave for 24 hours. This way the balm will have cured fully, and last a long time.Remember the longer the cure time, the longer it will protect and look good.Once done it was time to clean and polish the windows using megs window cleaner and a dodo juice mint merkin waffle towel.

Once the back was completed, it was time to move onto the front of the car repeating the same steps.Centre console first.

Also i use these thin wooden skewers, as the centres of my seats have small perferated holes, so any dust or shampoo thats dryed can easily be removed.I also use these for taken grit out of speaker cases, and around dashboard componants to take any grit and dust that will sit between the dash and the controls mounted to it.

Once completed i shampooed and moisterised the rest of the interior and its componnats, including the foot pedals.

Nice post, but no advertising is allowed :)

Can you recommend a single product of interior cleaning? I like my car to be clean, but not too sure I can be bothered to by 4-5 liquid cleaners and associated cloths only for the interior, if you know what I mean?

I use a Shell Garage vacuum cleaner and comma interior shampoo and an old cloth

Hope that helps :D

Every one to there own.But some do like to keep there car the way it came from the factory.I mean im not rich so i cant afford to spend x amount on a car then neglect it.

All depends on whether its leather or fabric, but if it was just one product to clean most things, thats cheap too for you to by and thats meguiars APC. That will clean most things but wont protect or draw depth on colour or gloss into the interior.

Great post!, looks better than new. I always plan on doing thi one day to my cars, but never quite manage it. The results speak for themselves though, looks fab. well done!.

Jesus Christ !

One day when you fancy a change and decide you want to sell your car, please will you contact me first? :)

On the 5th picture down of the before shot of the rear door card i notice some dents above the door handle. Has a dog been in the car? :D My rear door insides are covered in those little claw dents ,they are a sod to get out!

I noticed you vacuumed last.

Doesn't hoovering produce dust and undo all that hard work to some extent?

Detailing does very little for residuals. Also how much wonga do you spend on products? :)

10 out of 10 for effort though :thumb:

I don't think is about monetary values as such, but your own personal values.
You're spent hard earned money (in some cases ), in buying your car, so you want to keep it looking good

Yes believe or not it is actually the only mark in the entire car, and i mean anywhere. Its such a pain as its completly perfect right down to the front seats having no wear in them.I have no clue but the guy i bought it of knocked £500 just for that mark, so i live with it till i can source an exact match. But yes i have no clue!

I haver to say never have i come across this. The hoover is outside the car, and after cleaning everything, byu the end all the grit and dust is on the floor, so to me hoovering last is the right thing.Plus i never dust a car with microfibres as it just spreads it around, wheres i have hoover apllicators that mean i can hoover the dash and componants aswell as th everything else. But no in all the cars ive its never left the car dusty.

Yes this is defently 50/50, you cant do this just as a job, it has to be a hobby too. This i think it what makes detailist very good at what they do.I say:

-Professionalism (Being good)
-Passion (you love doing it)
-Dedication (working through the night to get it ready for that important show)
-Consistency (quality as good 10 hours later as it was in the first hour
-The best products in the world (makes a huge difference especially when your working with exotic paint)

But yes i would say in my kit i dont have 2 of any product its all a one man job, and nothing like valeting, and i believe its up to just over £3000.00

I also notice you have a machine polishing section that hasnt been used in a while. There i have put correct information on machine polishing as some of the info in there isnt quite up to scratch,When the detailing room is ready to use i will put some sticky's in there with good genuine advice!
