The Bug. Veyron has a power to weight ratio of 529 bhp/tonne.

So I guess a Caterham with 1037 bhp/tonne would probably be "quite nippy"

I want it, I am looking in the near future to buy a Caterham. IMO a 1.8 would be fine for me, but money no object then....

Assuming you could put at least some of that power to the road in 2WD:rolleyes:

A 0-60 time of less than 3 seconds would suggest it won't be a problem in the dry at least.

"Thankfully to prevent them spinning themselves into oblivion a couple of pieces of modern technology have made it into a Caterham for the first time; namely traction and launch controls while paddle shift control for the six-speed sequential gearbox is an option. Driving the de Dion suspended rear wheels via a limited slip diff, the Levante's 40-valve V8 will allow the 530kg car to crack 0-62mph in 'less than three seconds' while top speed is limited to 150mph."

If you dont mind getting wet and windswept whilst embarrassing a Veyron just buy a bike , cheaper and not limited to 150mph

I quite like dressing like a Power Ranger!:o

IIRC Bristol used to be very cagey about releasing technical details of their cars - like Bentley and Rolls Royce used to - but there's quite a lot disclosed in that article vtd posted.

I see you have a preference for the older Bristols Malcolm.
Personally, I prefer the newer models.

I'll chase it with a little 15 yr old Japanese shopping trolley :)

FWD, Cant put the power down, etc etc - I have heard them all before!

The new engine is being built now, and will be in the region of 500hp, perfectly tractable and civilised around town. Just need to get more power to catch up with the big boys ATM!

Last year at TOTB6 we embarrassed a lot of top notch machinery with the 1600 engine, the new 2.0 is certainly going to turn some heads :D

there is a road test of the fighter in this months Top Gear Mag.

Barlow gets to grip with Bristols! hmmmm.

2.0 litre 500 bhp FWD

I love the CRX, and Howard is a proper CRX fancier!! :D

Do you have any video clips of it running with the 1.6 engine?? Would be great to see it in action!!
