What products would you recommend for maintaining the black leather of my S211 E class?

It's in pretty good condition, one or two scuff marks, but nothing major.

What should I use to restore and protect?

The one or two scuff marks are only on the back seat, photo below

You want to restore and protect the scuff mark? Or the leather seat in general? I had a red leather seat for my car some years ago and I had it for about 6 years. However, the red color eventually faded since it was exposed to heat from the sun often (but since yours is black, I doubt it would have the same effect) but other than that, there was no problem at all. Leather seats are quite low maintenance in my opinion. No need for anything fancy to protect them. Just make sure no one has long nails in the car as they might scratch it accidentally.

Is it genuine leather or Artico?
Either way it just needs a wipe over with a damp cloth now and again.

No idea, how would I know?

Edit: Vin decoder says AMARETTA/LEATHER/NAPPA/SEMI-ANILINE - BLACK/ANTH. (831A)

By the SA code from the VIN decode

Autoglym leather balm and cleaner is good. It keeps the leather supple and less prone to cracking.

Automotive leather is sealed, so don’t bother with any ‘leather feeds’....

All you need is a damp cloth as mentioned above. :thumb:

I agree, the leather was sealed at production but it does deteriorate over time.

The best way to check if your leather is still sealed is to put a few drops of water on it. If it is still "beading" after a couple of minutes then it is still sealed. If it soaks in then I would suggest feeding it with your choice of product is advisable.

I'm still not sure how I can tell which parts of my interior is real leather or not.

I'm not fully understanding the VID decoders description of

AMARETTA/LEATHER/NAPPA/SEMI-ANILINE - BLACK/ANTH. (831A)

Dr Leather products are good. I use the spray on my CLS Interior, keeps everything matt and clean.

As said the sealed leather won’t change if you use all these creams and balms.

My other half’s SL has cracked leather on the drivers seat though. I used Gliptone cleaner and balm to improve that. Made quite a difference but that was I assume real leather and obviously the surface had been compromised.

The main faces will be leather, and side pieces will likely be artificial. If you are looking to treat the scratch then black shoe polish had aniline dyes that will colour it the same. I use the liquid type polishes to touch on my black leather, just buff well when dry. Beyond that sealed leather and any artificial leather all just needs a wipe with a damp cloth as mentioned before.

What does one reseal the leather with as original ?

I presume it's some kind of flexible lacquer ?

Colorlok to restore and Dr Leather to clean/care
