How to mod a Mercedes -the good and bad bits!

Just a humble c180 K which was mapped but isnt now.

Did the map make much difference? Why did you remove it?

It made the car may a bit more responsive and maybe a bit smooter but it was no faster. The sprintbooster (also now removed) made much more difference to the feel of the car. But the reason that i removed the Sprintbooster, airfilter and Map was to do with Insurance. I wanted to add my daughter to the insurance and they wouldn't put her on if it had performance mods. Cosmetic mods or MB extras seemed OK.

PS. I should have said in the first post that the little pics are thumbnails and if you click them you'll get the fullsize photo!

R2 how much was the new key? I've heard it's around £200?!?!

Sadly i think you are right. when I lot mine it was £150ish but I'd heard it was over £200 now. I got mine because my wife lost her key to my car!

:eek:Shame 'cos I'd like one - it's got shiny bits on it :bannana:

In one word - NO. Defo noticed my fuel bill go up. Plus although i would say overall Kleemann products are very good - they do make very exagerated claims. With all the Kleemann kit i fitted to my C200K i should easily have exceeded 250BHP.

Did you feel any advantage of running just the k box without doing the headers?

Where's the other W203s? I can can think of one with a custon red interior, and another with Bix and brabus mods........

Here's my Kleeman (Originally C200K Sport)

De-chromed and replaced with carbon vinyl
Smoked rear lights
Depo Black front headlights
Black foglights
Comand APS
Kleemann TS 8 Alloy wheels
Kleemann Header and Sports Cat
C55 Exhaust and rear wheel well replaced
BEM Wood interior
Chrome/carbon shift change
SL 55 AMG Steering Wheel and shift change (first W203 in the UK to have shift change added as mod - thanks to Richard and Alfie at Comand)
C55 Front Discs and calipers - EBC Redstuff pads
Black Diamond drilled and grooved rear discs / original caliper
Carbon wrapped front grille

Probably forgotten something - Cost (loads) not worried about not getting price back on it as it's done over 70K so i will just keep running it. That's when my daughter's not using it.
Best C Class I've seen, gorgeous:thumb:

That looks really good but must have been time consuming and expensive, well worth the effort though especially if you're keeping the car for a long time.
I've been thinking about doing some mods to mine but want to keep it asthetically pretty standard apart from a boot lip maybe.
My main interest is going for some performance mods.

Old post I know :) but anyone know if you can buy the rear bumper/diffuser featured in the pics on this thread??

And could it fit on a coupe?
Cheers
