How to replace damper

Is it difficult to replace the damper on the belt tensioner of my C200 1997.Thanks

Do you mean the damper on the crankshaft?

If you mean the small shock absorber [29] then you will find it difficult to slacken the lower mounting bolt without removing the tensioner itself. Its held on with 2 or 3 bolts. [different bolt lengths!!]That's the easiest way I found. You can do it in place you need a big Allen key which will slot in behind
You can replace it from the top.
The rattle is irritating!
