Guys,
Have searched the forum but cannot find the sequence to reset the auto box. The box has gradually become very unresponsive - the engine revs but doesn't easily seem to change down unless you really give it some - the paddles work fine, and I wondered if it had learnt some old-man driving habits. :o
It was serviced about 1500 miles ago.

It all works OK, and I know its only a 200K but it felt livelier before - or am I having a mid-life crisis since she got the SLK?

The thing you're thinking about just tricks the car into thinking you're driving like a loon, and sharpens it's responses.

The Internet way regarding holding accelerator down and turning off and on the ignition is dull. Much more fun to do it the proper way - drive like a loon (safely).

Find a stretch of dual carriageway where there's no traffic and it's safe to do so, join as slowly as possible - almost dead start is good (OK very gentle roll) - and then nail the throttle and hold it through a few shifts.

Repeat a few times to confirm you really are a loon.

The car will be eager like a cheetah until it realises you've stopped driving like a loon (about 40 shifts) and will gradually come down off red alert.

Thanks,
OK - off to the Thelwall Viaduct - yeah time's about right - Lane 4.
OK Hit it

No, actually, on Friday at 5.30, the Thelwall Viaduct is a car park - actually like a car park a lot of the time! :(

Not had a chance to do anything with it yet.
