How to restore iPhone 5S lost contacts on computer?

Please help! I lost most contacts after updating phone with iOS 7. I tried seeing if my contacts could be found in iCloud. No luck. How do I recover my iPhone lost contacts?

Did you just do a straight forward update on your iphone?

Is your phone standard? i.e. not Jail-broken.

Have you tried plugging your phone into your computer letting it register/start itunes then restore from backup? When you hit Restore From Backup you should get a drop down that will allow you to select previous back ups. Chosse one older than your problem.

Also ensure that you have contacts enabled in icloud on your iphone or it will not sync them to icloud.
