Dear friends,
I own w126 300se 1990

I have a problem with heater duovalve, it is stuck open
I want to completely stop heater, because it is warm here most of the year

Can I do this by disconnecting power cable of “Auxiliary Heating water pump
Will this stops heated air inside the car ?
And
Is it safe ?

Or any other idea to stop the heater ?

Thanks alot
:)

Welcome to the forum.

The clue is in the name "auxiliary" this is designed to pump water around the heater matrix when the engine is off so disconnecting it would have no effect on your problem. In normal use the water is moved around the engine and heater by the water pump that is driven by the engine.

Either replace the valve if it cannot be manually shut or find the input and output hoses for the heater matrix and connect them together to bypass it.
