Just wondering what one should look for in trying to spot if an AMG rim is replica or real?

I read from past posts that one indication is weight, but without me taking the wheels off, is there a way to tell authenticity?

For example, are these real and, if not, what gives it away?

Oh, and HAPPY XMAS folks! :D

I cant see the pics for some reason but the fact they are staggereed set up suggests to me they are genuine, most copies seem to be all 4 wheels are same width.

Also make sure the amg wording cast on the outside face actually says amg and not amc or similiar.

I suppose asking the seller the mercedes part number form the back of the wheel would be a good idea.

Thanks folks! Meryy Xmas :D

They are CLK AMG alloys , the fact that they are staggered means they are 99.9% definately real.

I have the same wheels on my CLK.

Hi,
Though i agree with everything said on this thread, don,t get too hung up if all the wheels are the same width as some W202s had 7.5j's all round. I think it depended on whether they were factory fitted or fitted as an MB acessary.

36 IIRC had one width all the way round , 43's and 55's were staggered.

I expect i'm wrong
