There are only 2 people I know of who have done this.
Here is what I have learned in my quest which you can all benefit from
1/ Speakers in the E Class W212 cannot be replaced. They are welded into all the doors.
2/ Without adding a time delay device you may get a clunk when you switch on and off your upgraded system.
The following option gives you a near show quality sound without A> Cutting the car in anyway B> Cheaper than the Harmon Kardon or door builds.
Here is the plan..
1/ Install JL amp - this powers front speakers in the car instead of factory unit. Fitted snugly under the passenger foot well.
2/ Install Alpine sub - specific one to the boot of the car - cut out the foam in the rear parcel shelf, just enough foam underneath existing parcel shelf long vent.
3/ The JL amp powers the fronts and the sub, the rears are connected to the existing head unit.
Result - Show quality to a laymen
Cost - £1200 approx.....
Other options.
1. Use an Audison AMP - this does not create a clunk sound
2. Use a larger JL amp to power fronts, rears and sub.
3. Just start with a JL amp with existing speakers
4. Ask the company to cut a hole in your centre arm rest and recover and fire the bass speaker into the car.
---
Notes
You MUST fit delay switches and choose a smart wiring company.
You Must choose sub and sub boxes carefully - as you are compromising by not cutting a hole in your rear seats.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY SPEAKERS.

PM me if you want to chat...or hear my car sound system. ( WILTSHIRE )
It was a F ball ache for me and Huets so we thought we would share our award winning cheap solution you can call them to get the actual sub that worked.... We try'd 4 subs in the boot !!!!!! They all were no good except the one I have now.
I used Huets as they were warmer on the phone than London and because they do all the show-cars and so the hassle of driving 130 miles each way for fitting was negated by the confidence and expert service they have.
Good luck...
