The gallery software was reloaded on the server (in fact the server died and was replaced) so all the URLs changed!Any chance of a set of pic that went with this great thread? Said the W202 owner
Which command units are advisable to try to install into a W202. I was about to put a sat-nav and dvd system in mine to keep the offspring happy on those long runs but this would work out cheaper in the long run I think. Also, is it possible to connect additional lcd screens for the back?
Thanks in advance for any info and help.
A comand unit from the stealership is about £2.5k. As the septics would say: "do the math"According to Steve Krabbenbourg (MBenzNL), I need Command from a W163 ML as these did not have Canbus, but he reckons there will be a space either above or below the unit. I am seriously considering this mod for the future (along with the Bosch OEM xenons but one thing at a time eh ). One question though, is it better to get the Command unit from the stealer?

You could cope with a 208 or 210 comand if you can get a canbus adapter/emulator.
Alfie is probably the man to speak to.I agree point taken, so would it be safe to buy from ebay if one came up?
The emulator is under £100 IIRC and the 208/210 units are much easier to find than the 163s.But would the emulator be expensive?
Mine is a 163 unit. I also have a spare 208 unit that I intend to swap one day...I take it yours is a 208 unit?
Worst case my spare is going to be installed in the kitchen as a spare TV/radio
