The gallery software was reloaded on the server (in fact the server died and was replaced) so all the URLs changed! :(

Sorted now!

Which command units are advisable to try to install into a W202. I was about to put a sat-nav and dvd system in mine to keep the offspring happy on those long runs but this would work out cheaper in the long run I think. Also, is it possible to connect additional lcd screens for the back?

Thanks in advance for any info and help.

I never know why people insist on brainwashing their children at every possible opportunity. According to the most current thinking in child psychology, parents who pander to their kids end up with monsters for teenagers.

He's actually very well behaved. We drive up to Liverpool a number of times each year and it's basically to keep him occupied as he never has traveled well.

Awesome! I'd have a go but i already bought an aftermarket DVD player. Still need to get a Sat Nav, this would've been so much easier!

Excellent guide :D

Out of interest, how much do you think the project cost in total?

please help

ok im from the U.S i know im an U.K site but i joined here for one reason. to talk to you. And i have a cople of question. The first are the part numbers the same in the U.S. if not, or you dont know, how do i get the command unit. What year ML is it in, and do i go the the stelership's part counter and ask for an extenshion anntana or do i need a part number. the same go's for the braket and wood trim (faisa plate i think you call it)

Hi there this comand was installed in a C class W202 not a ML

Total project cost for me was about a grand but comand units are cheaper now so this is probably achievable for about £600.

Shude, I was thoroughly impressed by your presentaion, i hope to in the near future do the same to my C200 P plate. Very inspirational hence I became a Member.....don't want to miss a thing. Well done.

According to Steve Krabbenbourg (MBenzNL), I need Command from a W163 ML as these did not have Canbus, but he reckons there will be a space either above or below the unit. I am seriously considering this mod for the future (along with the Bosch OEM xenons  but one thing at a time eh ;)). One question though, is it better to get the Command unit from the stealer?

A comand unit from the stealership is about £2.5k. As the septics would say: "do the math" :)

You could cope with a 208 or 210 comand if you can get a canbus adapter/emulator.

I agree point taken, so would it be safe to buy from ebay if one came up?

But would the emulator be expensive?

I take it yours is a 208 unit?
Mine is a 163 unit. I also have a spare 208 unit that I intend to swap one day... :)

Worst case my spare is going to be installed in the kitchen as a spare TV/radio ;)
