HOWTO: Install Interior Dimming RVM - Pre Facelift W202

Just done My RVM today Big thanks to Ricky for supplying my mirrors so quick :bannana:
First switch off the interior light and ignition.
This is how it starts off,The original Rear view mirror.

For the pre facelift cars the interior light does not need to be removed,Just grab the mirror base and twist hard.

What you are trying to do is depress the pins on the ends of the spring inwards to release the mirror from the housing in the roof lining.

When it pops out the loom comes with it.

All that needs to be done now is unplug the old RVM and plug in the new dimming RVM,Push the connector into the mirror base and push home the RVM into the roof lining. All is done.

To check its working switch on the interior light
to normal operating position, switch on the ignition ,hold your finger over the light sensor on the back and shine a torch onto the sensor on the top corner and watch it go very dim

Part dimmed(about 40%)

Fully dimmed(80%)

Unfortunately V12 did not have a auto dimming RVM for a facelift in black, so I bought one from Germany new for £120, saving about £20 on UK price

oooooohhhh...me want one!!!!

you don't have to reprogram the key for the sensor on this do you?

No! just plug and play.

Tell you what tho, just watching the thing go dimmer makes me want the door mirrors the same now.
