For sale is an HP N40L Microserver. This is an ideal low power home media server - or storage, or whatever takes your fancy. I've used this since 2012, and am only selling due to upgrading to an N54L.
The Good (Specs):
CPU : Dual core AMD Turion II 1.5GHz
RAM : 6GB DDR3 ECC (upgraded from 2GB)
HDD : 1 x 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive (well used, but 0 SMART errors) - fully blanked.
ODD : 1 x DVD+RW/DL (SATA)
GPU : MSI R5450-MD1GD3H/LP PCI-E X16 (HDMI + DVI Output)
USB : 4 x front, 2 x rear, 1 x internal (all bootable)
E-SATA : 1 x rear port
VGA : 1 x rear port
O/S : None provided (I was running Debian Linux on it)
Good condition for age - some light scratches to the case (see pics), and some dust, but nothing a good blast with some compressed air won't fix (mine has run out!)
The Bad (not much) :
The key for the door is missing (lock is open) and the torx driver isn't the right size for the HDD screws - but if you have a torx driver, that's not a problem. All the spare ODD & HDD screws are present (see pics of door interior).
The Honest :
The PSU has been recently replaced, as the original failed (but after many years I can't complain - the replacement should see it go another several years!)
The BIOS has been modified to allow AHCI, hot-swap & full speed SATA II across all 6 SATA ports (this is "a good thing")
£80 ONO - COLLECTION ONLY FROM BRUM!
