Dear all

My daughter dropped her phone on Friday and the screen has cracked, but it has also stopped responding. We can get it repaired reasonably cheaply and quickly but will lose the data as the phone will be factory reset.

Problem is the phone has defaulted to 'Charge Only' when you plug it into a PC so we back up or even read the data.

I've tried the usual Google and HTC online enquiries but am drawing a blank. Does anyone know of a way of forcing an unresponsive handset to backup or be read as a removable drive? Or would anyone recommend a DIY screen replacement that would avoid a factory reset?

Many thanks

Sean

Number 2 son's htc crashed & wouldn't re-start.
Ended up phoning htc - very nice people. Bottom line however was that back-ups should be done on a regular basis. Once it's crashed & you can't access the back up proceedure. you're screwed - sorry!

Surely most things will be on micro memory card?

Good point - that's where I'll look
