It might be a push to bring in cash now, due to poor balance sheet at Merc HQ, as a result of coronavirus.

Well there’s a 20% reduction in service care prices until the end of September.

I suspect that the extended warranty is underwritten by a third party and so it may be that uptake is low and so both parties have agreed to reduce prices if they think they can still maintain a margin.
