    Hi All

I was thinking of changing the tappets on my 89 230te and had a couple of questions.

    1)How many are there?
2)Where do i get em from?

And does anybody know the costs associated with this, i.e. is it a DIY job etc?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Paul

    noisey tappets

I too have noisey tappets which i have mentioned in a previous thread, first thing i did was to give the engine a good flushing out, then put new(good quality) oil in, this made a remarkable improvement to start with but now the noise is back but not as bad and only when starting from cold in the mornings, the rest of the day its ok. A quick FLIP of the throttle stops the rattle so i would try a flush first as it may only be one that is sticking, hope this helps a little.
