So....looks like Mrs JB wants to get back into a Merc. I have another thread running but was probably too long winded. We'll be replacing our trusty 5 yr old Galaxy that we've had for 5 yrs. It will be financed. Around £3/5k deposit. Looking to pay in area of £325 a month absolute max. Less would be nice. I dont think I can do anything via my landscaping business with regards to Mrs JB's car - I am not Ltd co, just about to re-register for vat.
Criteria for 7 seats gone.
Want comfort, space, toys, economical running, performance. Will do a 3000 mile trip to Italy once a year and return with vino, not sure how many of the three kids will go with us, possibly just one.
She won't go with a 4x4 so ML, GL are out. C class too small.
So these are my thoughts:-
E Class saloon - something like a 250 or 350 diesel
E Class estate - as above
S Class diesel
One certain thing is it has to be auto and will not be silver (although some of the grey colours named silver will work). Bluetooth, ipod/streaming/built in satnav a must.
I am very out of the loop of "new" mb models - after the scarring experience of our 2nd new w210 in the early nineties that was it for me for a long time. After a cursory browse at Jay's site for reference I am amazed at value for money on 2-4 yr old cars. But I need help.
With the above in mind, what would you buy, and why?
