I don't like brown but ......

Didn’t BL do the Allegro and Ital in brown, with tan velour upholstery?
My first car was a Princess Special Six Auto with a Sorrel velour interior. That was like a reddy brown. (It was a hand me down from my folks but it was immaculate). I actually loved that car - when my mates were in their Fiesta 1 litre Pop Plus's etc i was hooning around in my wallowy straight six 2.2 with armrests and full webasto sunroof! Mine was like the ones below but an auto.

It's a wrap, but very tasty IMO.

I don't think i could ever have a dark coloured interior any more - light colours for me just make for a much more pleasant place to be. The S212 is Alpaca Gray which i love and my old Alfa is tan (though the tan carpets on that might be considered a touch overkill!). Im surprised so many cars still have black when there are these other options available.
I agree, Chris, light upholstery for me every time. Mine (see earlier post) does have black carpets and dash top, though, more serviceable. I can’t understand the combination of a black headlining and a sunroof, such as in my Son in law’s BMW, tbh.

I know it was 3 years ago.....but that Testarossa looked cheap didnt it? Even it the higher estimate it was only about £188,000.......

An earlier post mentioned the effect of a light coloured interior - that is always my choice, but it doesn’t seem to be too widely available nowadays…

I'd quite like a 355 with a proper gearstick. I saw one at the weekend and it reminded me how pretty they are. One thing i can't understand is why anyone would want a Ferrari that doesn't have the iconic H gate. Maybe im just too romantic about it!
Now there’s a car which has appreciated nicely in the 3 years since you posted.

Try finding a manual 355 GTS but don’t look directly at the asking price, look through your fingers or from behind the sofa - it’s scary!

They’re worth the money but when I know a car was so much less than it was just a few years ago it puts me off buying one (not wanting one).

I like brown over tan - on sports cars and supercars especially.

I should have bought a Bornite W124 500 E from @jaymanek a few years ago. It was a lovely car and if I had sold it today then I could have retired on the proceeds!

Unfortunately Mrs D wasn’t just less keen - it invoked quite a reaction - so sadly it was not to be. She had a similar reaction to Macademia on a Porsche 997.

Missed this post .....

Bornite is NOT brown ........ It's plum (and my all time favourite MB colour)

Not quite the same but still kick myself to this day for not buying that bornite mint low mileage AMG kitted W124 320 saloon that was floating round the forum 10 years for 2 and a half grand. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

That’s like saying I’m an athlete at the peak of fitness.

For a small proportion of my life I was fairly close to being just that, but for the rest of the time I’ve been alive? Not so much.

Bornite is fairly close to being plum in exactly the right light on 29 February, but for the rest of the time? It’s brown!

If I remember right the 500 E was £4500 and for sale ages. It did have intergalactic mileage though.

Agreed....and don't eat any plums you might find in that colour... they are most definitely off!

Had a brown bandit a while back, i liked it but did get some stick of some people though

Testarossa (red head) refers to the colour the valve covers are painted, not the car.
