I get so mad when people dont use the roads properly and shout and give YOU abuse for there lack of awareness!!

I live near a duel carrage way which I use daily. it has a roundabout on it.

On this roundabout it splits in to 3 lanes on the aproach, the roundabout has 3 exits, straight over, right and back on myself.

going back to the 3 lanes, the left one goes streight over, the right one goes right, the centre does both but on the aproach to the roundabout it only indicates streight over, on the roundabout the arrows show right and streight over also so do the road markings.
im very aware now that people dont use this corectly and when turning right they cut over the lanes to sit in the slow lane once off the roundabout, which is ok as long as no car was using the centre lane to begin with as that leads to the slow lane on the road you turn off to.

so i am using the centre lan on the aproach and a lady was using the right one, going round the roundabout i go past her as i knew she would cut me up on the turn off, i then see her shouting and what not else at me as she was clearly thinking i was mis using the roundabout!!

i get so mad at this, and christ she wound me up

Oh, and could you spell check and use a bit more grammar next time!!!!

Who cares? You obviously understood it, thats all it matters right? this isnt an English language forum is it? - why is most people on here hang up on how to write perfectly and perfect grammer its a car forum! Not everybody on here is English i'm Portugese and I am sure I dont have the perfect grammer, most British people on here dont!

I'm sure your not perfect at your own language pal!

If your going to judge members on here on their grammer and writing then go to an english language forum this is the wrong forum!

I agree and suspect your English is much better than most of the forum members Portugese. I know it's MB Club UK but I don't ever remember English Language qualifications being part of the criteria for membership.

Why get hung up on a few misplaced commas and full stops? Surely there are more important things to worry about?

Whoa - you need to calm down! I was making a comment based on the fact that I had to read the post three times to actually make sense of what he was talking about!

No, I am not perfect at my own language, but since my language is English, at least I would like to be able to read all these interesting threads and posts without resorting to Babel Fish!

I am calm?

I was just pointing out the fact that most people on here are hung up on grammer and perfect writing but not all of us on here are British like you guys and you have to consider that..

I have only read his post once or twice to understand it, it's not exactly hard to read what he was going on about, personally I had no trouble understanding what he was saying!

but anyway just a point I wanted to point out and I apologies if I seemed abit too strong with my approach.

No, you're quite right - my comment was merely a foot note to OP's post.
I didn't expect any response actually! Am not here to annoy people about their grammar or anything you know......

Whilst I would agree this is not an English language forum , it still grates with me when I read examples of poor spelling , punctuation and grammar . I would not normally complain however , other than in exceptionally bad cases where the prose is difficult to read or understand .

I would also be much more tolerant and forgiving in the case of a writer for whom English is not their native language .

Incidentally , I am not English either : I'm Scottish !

Anyway back on track, never mind the grammar, I still don't understand the original post and who went where.

I bet when you fill forms in and it asks for your Nationality, I bet you put Scottish? Whilst most English people would put British.

I lived around Ayr for 7 years and people would openly say I'm not British I'm Scottish. I sometimes wish most of the English were as patriotic as you guys North of the border :D

Surely pointing out the errors in the miss-use of the English language and grammar in a polite way, would be of benefit to anyone learning a new language or just improving ones native language.

My spelling and grammar skills are far from perfect, any errors pointed out would be considered helpful when offered in the right spirit. Re-reading and use of the spell checker does help of course.

English is my first, only and last language and after a lifetimes use I am still learning.

I have a similar roundabout where I live. But since I see the mistakes people make every day, it no long surprises me and I don't get annoyed by it. It is almost the opposite in fact. If I see someone use the lanes correctly it makes me smile. In short, don't allow yourself do get angry by other people's predictable mistakes.

edit: also a bit of forward planning and defensive driving should help minimise these kinds of situations

Don't do that. It's always very dodgy passing people on roundabouts and if you pass to her left, then there will be all sorts of allegations of undertaking etc. Passing her gives her chance to crash into you.

For the few extra seconds involved, hang back and let her get clear of the roundabout. You stay in control of the situation then.

I agree.
A few extra seconds......
Think about it.

Saves a lot of hassle IMO. ;)
