I hate when sellers don't know what they're selling

Surely then it will make less money , appearing to be a 'lesser' model ?

If you were in the market for a 24v , you could 'steal' it ....

Doesn't appear to be a Merc specialist, so to him it's a big old bus with a price on it.
Most of us love it when sellers don't know what they're selling - it usually means we get a bargain.
Much rather it was titled like this than saddled with the usual 'Sportline' and 'Sports switchable Gearbox' rubbish that ads for 1980s MBs attract.
Besides, the pics show you what it really is - clear as day.

It looks like a clean and tidy old car from an honest seller with exemplary feedback. If I was in the market for another 124 estate, I'd probably have a look at that. Nice spec also :)

i think its a trade in as he has loads of cars on ebay even a few mercs

Anyone have any idea how much its worth???

Know there was a web site you could type the reg number into but can't remember it!!!

He says he's a trader in the ad..

If there wasn't a recession on:rolleyes: ;).

I'm watching it, might be worth a cheeky bid as there is no reserve.

Am after an estate car but was going to shift my 270 first - but might be worth a cheeky bid if its cheap!!!

looks quite a nice example! at what will prpbably end up being a bargain price

The 24v models actually go for much less usually, because of all the problems the engine suffers. I wouldn't have touched that engine with a bargepole if I'd have known.

You'd be lucky to get 200k out of the 24v without a full (inc bottom end) rebuild, whereas the m103s can go to 300k and beyond without any major issues.

The m104s also have more understeer and wear out the front suspension faster due to the extra weight of the engine., notice how the front end sits lower on the 24s?

Well I should be biased because I have an M103-engined 300TE, but to be honest, I think most people would prefer the extra power of the 300-24.

I personally would in some respects, but the 3.0 M103 is plenty enough for what the car is (an estate car, runaround etc) and the slightly less complex mechanicals are more appealing on a car worth only a few £££ than the few extra bhp.

I'd buy on condition of the actual vehicle rather than ruling one out on paper to be honest.

All IMHO :)

If it goes mega cheap its gotta be worth it for my son and I to practice taking bits off and teaching ourselves how to be mechanics!
