Gentlemen, Ladies,

hope you are well.

I have been spending last 2 days hunting around for insurance quotes after my Renewal came in a bit steep.

Tesco started off at £1026, then dropped it to £952.

Told them to get lost.. Any how, Swinton came in at £850

Again told um to get lost..

Peter Best were not the Best at £810, and £729 from elephant....then tried adrian Flux and got £615

Atleast i was begining to get some credit crunch pricing now.

Any how, then as i was about to give up and stick to the Adrian Price when i accidently came across Privilege who quote me ... Are you sitting down for this... £417 all in with my standard 350 voluntry excess.

I mean how can any one comprehend the variance here.. its amazing.. took a lil longer, but what a result...

What ever you drive, just spend that extra hour looking for the lowest prices!

agreed, Priviledge are very good. I've been with them before and am with them now, the gf's car is with them also which saves us even more.

Why don't you have a mini fleet policy with 6 cars?

We had one of these from Norwich Union, but overall, was not as competitive when looking at break down from some indpendants.. ie - i pay only 200 fully comp on my 320ce cabrio

Tescos...............every little helps..........

I dont think so ! ! ! ! !

I did similar last time round - was with Tesco and then rang round a good few more. BUT - I then rang Tesco back and they beat the best price I'd got elsewhere - 40+% off their original price.

My business fleet policy was with Norwich Union, then last year they doubled theri rates and priced themselves out of the market.

Shop around, maybe one of those mulitcar policies is the way to go.

I have a 94 E320 Cabriolet, insured on an agreed valuation policy with Equity Red Star, through Adrian Flux, which I paid £245.98 for last July.

Have you insured your car as a daily driver, or did you enquire about classic car policies with Flux?

Yes Equity Red Star is the cheapest for me as well. Mine is from my bank.

I paid a tad under £370 for my CLK320.

That's more like it! Sorry, I incorrectly assumed your original post was about this car, as it is in your title!

Thanks. I just tried them.

It's a Direct Line offshoot so same family as Tesco and Churchill.

And they are cheap for basic insurance. I just got a quote from them for £210 for my E with wife as named driver and with no frills (no guaranteed hire car, no legal protection, no NCD protection, and £300 excess).

Admiral may well be worth a call as well.

mine came out at 373£ with 2 named driver that on s 55 amg ,not bad direct line wanted £442

I was with the AA for many years, and they used to insure my 300CE 24v for about £400 a year. Then they came back with a renewal quote of £900.... So they lost that business sharpish... I switched to admaral at C£350 a year... Now I'm with LV for my 300D at £149 per year.....

I'm with direct line as they are not on any of those 'comparison/Meerkat' sites.

A class is £130 per year fully comp £250 excess. Comparison sites wante over £200...yeah right.....
