CLS W219 320 CDI AMG factory fitted
Not so much a new member but a returning one! Sadly my last post was in 2007 when I had my E220 Coupe. Glad to have logged back in recently to see that our previous discussion had helped a few out of trouble with their electronics.
Long over due, I've just picked up another Merc after having sold the 220 Coupe.
I am now the proud owner of a 06 CLS 320 CDI. AMG kit from factory, heated, cooled, massage seats, sunroof, command, auto closing boot & airmatic suspension all sitting on original 19" AMG wheels. Black with black interior.
First thing on my list of mods to do - Rear light cluster facelift.

Any tips on rear light cluster upgrades?

Are the 2008 ones LEDs? If so then you might have to fool the ECU into thinking they're incandescent with a resistor. Lenses are about £180 each.

Hi Ierton,

Where can you get the facelifted led clusters for £180? I'm in need of two!

Any Mercedes dealer!

Ah thanks Ierton!

Very much appreciated! I got the modules that are needed to plug the facelifted lights into the pre facelifted cars!

Do you have the part numbers for those?

First of all, Chaz, Welcome back! Sorry for hijacking your thread to discuss rear lights :ban:

Ierton,

These modules were made by a guy called "Frenchie", he was mostly active on the US forums but I've seen a thread by him in here as well.

I was given the modules last year by a member on here last year and still waiting to get it fixed! The last time I checked with the dealer, they quoted over £300 each and I"ve been looking on Ebay every since

Great to be back in the MB club.

Feel free to Hijack Don! :)

Where can I get my hands on these modules? Or does anyone know how they could be made?

I'm pretty sure the 'modules' are just a set of resistors (one for each LED cluster) to fool the SAM that there's not a bulb failure. Can you post a photo of the internals? If not I might just buy a set of lights and do it myself and report back.

Very stealthy "all" black..... Love it....
