So I got sent this link by a buddy today (apologies, it's the Daily Mail):
Sales of new petrol and diesel cars could be banned in TWELVE years' time to fight climate change | Daily Mail Online
And it just made me so cross. I applaud the sentiment, and I am 100% in favour of reducing carbon emissions, but REALLY - is our government so bloody out of touch that they simply don't realise how impossible a 2032 ("or even 2030") target is?
I don't need to go on about infrastructure, lack of power stations and lack of lithium on here as we all know. But is our government really so clueless that they think this could EVER be remotely doable in ten years?
It take several years to design and build a single power station. We need loads of them! 10 years is NOTHING when talking about a project like this.
I just can't believe politicians can stand up and make these statements with a straight face. if they did it in a business environment, the board of directors would fire them for not having a grasp of reality.
I know it's been done to death already, but I just had to rant.
With apologies...
