Welcome!

It would be helpful if you said where you are in the UK to get best advice.

If anywhere near Preston, Ian Walker of 124works could be your man

Hi mb190cosworth,

Welcome to the forums

Please could you give a little more information. Where abouts are you based and do you have any idea as to what is wrong with your engine? :) How many miles has it covered and do you have any previous history as to it's maintenance?

What's the spec of your car btw? Any pictures :)

Cheers,

Will

I wonder if we know the previous owner?

the car is in croydon, south london no idea about the spec like i said i have no idea about mb cars

What's your budget? What else does the car need to make it viable?

I thnk you'll very easily spend more than the car is worth so tread carefully

thanks boldie not sure what the budget is going to be at the moment will have to work out the funds

If you've got it for free, you can't complain :)

Use it as a learning experience. Even if you balls it up, what you learn on this car will save you money on your other cars in the long run, because you'll want to do the work yourself rather than pay someone else.

Cossie engine rebuilds do not come cheap. Parts for these cost a fortune. As an example, exhaust manifold comes in at a 4 figure sum. Pistons at £115 each  Gasket set.......... OMG. But I may be prepared to overhaul. Pm me the chassis number and reg please if you are interested.
