I no longer own the E320 estate :(

You did very well.....Was asking around trying to get rid of the W202 to buy it......I nearly went for it last year.....for a little bit more !!

Pammy, I know and I intend to

Wleg - So did I and I very nearly buckled when Graeme dropped the price to £5500 last month. When he put the price down to 4K it was a case of how quick can we get to the bank? :)

Ian, the stupid grin is probably going to be there for a while yet.

Turncoat!

Seriously though; good buy, and a good result for Grav too. :bannana: :bannana:

But your other half's done best of all...

Nice one Andy,

I've got to say, these cheap C43s/E55s have had me tempted for quite a while, Grav's car sounded like a bargain and good to see that at least it's gone to a nice home :)

Enjoy!

24 hours later, no speeding tickets, there's still some rubber left on the tyres and all of a sudden we are very popular with friends who want to have a go in the "new car" and I've still got that silly grin on my face :)

Andy, the 280 is now insured :bannana::bannana::bannana:

:bannana: :bannana: :bannana: thanks Ian, we'll look after it for you :):bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

did you insure it for any driver? :)

Congratulaltions Andy :-) Glad the car has gone to a good home and with the petrol prices dropping this weekend, looks like you have picked to right time to buy.

Enjoy :-)

if I was worried about petrol prices I wouldn't have bought it and we probably wouldn't have kept the E320 for so long either (or the 280E come to think of it) :)

Since I've been working from home my mileage has dropped from 1000 miles a week to less than 1000 miles a month so running a "fun car" is no problem

Andy

Out of interest - what kind of MPG are you getting...? - with a reasonable amount of GRIN driving.....

Of course.. it can take two weeks for the points to come by post.....

no idea yet about the mpg. I put £50 worth of petrol in it on Friday evening (it was on the reserve when Grav brought it down), we've done about a 150 miles and there's still plenty left despite the best efforts of lead footed family members and friends who all want to go out for a drive :D

As for the two weeks thing, we are pretty much a scamera free zone down here and sitting on bridges/standing at the side of the road with "hairdryers" seems to be a pastime reserved for the summer months when the sun is shining and there are plenty of tourists to catch

I'll give some serious replies to mpg and how long I expect the tyres to last in a couple of weeks

Andy

Anyone that is concerned about mpg or tyre wear should not really be considering this type of vehicle. It is all about grin factor, the bigger that grin, the bigger the fuel bill.

We only live once and far better to have lived rather than forever wishing 'If only' :)

My sentiments as well, BUT if I am go get something similer, I need to know the basics...to help convince the wife.....

Sounds like an excellent buy for the money and its nice that the car still gets to stay on here with a very happy owner. Good luck with it.

I know what you mean and I'll let you know :)

I'll fill it to the brim tomorrow and do a few days running around before refilling it - that should give some sort of idea.

We didn't really consider fuel economy when we bought it. For day to day stuff, if it does 20mpg we'll be more than happy, if it returns 25 then we're delighted. If we can squeeze a bit more on motorway trips great but even if it averaged 15 mpg there wouldn't be a problem - we'd just use the E320 a bit more :)
