now now , not all experiences that involve a w204 c63 are negative. this one time i was in the fastest lane on the motorway heading to camber sands, m20 I think, and there are 4 cars not travelling fast in front of me and I'm stuck behind waiting for someone to exit the lane so we can make some progress. i mutter my indifference at the driving being done by the car in front of the convey to my wife, who shrugs and closes her eyes to continue napping. Suddenly in my rear view mirror I notice a car coming rather swiftly and catching up fast...cue ...red c63 coupe with hood vents. lovely looking specimen, I pull into the lane to the left, somewhat agitated that his brakes may not be functioning , around 10 seconds later he goes past me and , I get behind him. Like moses, he clears the way... all of a sudden , those 4 or 5 cars quickly vacate the fast lane ( finally ).they certainly didnt do that when i was behind them ! maybe I should get a sportier car. I stick behind him, maybe a touch too close (1.5 second rather than 2 second gap) and he starts to accelerate. I think, sure , why not keep up with moses... the speedo starts to register speeds of 68...69...70...71...72...73...74...75 and I think, golly, let's not get a speeding ticket ... so I let him progress on his own. anyhow he leaves a bit of a gap until he runs into traffic , by the time he clears the lane, I'm right behind him again. he proceeds to clear the fast lane maybe 15 or so times like this and i have the best uninterrupted cruise in the fast lane thanks to Mr Moses in his c63 being a gent. it was like I had my very own sports car escort to clear the way for me. happy days :)

SLR 617hp, 780nms 1750kg / 352hp per ton

c63 451hp , 600nms 1772kg / 254hp per ton

^Based on assumptions

He wasn't trying

But you haven't factored in the aero drag. These guys were going for Vmax. Or a race to a stripey suntan and a shagging up the shitter. Whatever wafts your raft...

Leave the man alone. As he said, he hasn't made an a**e of himself posting a stupid video. He has a nice car, albeit nothing special on this forum, and he enjoyed it on a motorway. Not much wrong with that. As he admitted, he's a total leg-end...

Sounds as though Turbop. is well capable of taking the ribbing:)

So where can we drive our cars the way they were designed, in a spirited manner, if a motorway is verbotten? We may as well all buy a Nissan Leaf and poodle around whilst not disturbing our fellow drivers and local wildlife and then die from a boring existence. As long as no other road user was in danger then what's the problem.

I'm sure that we all enjoy a spirited drive from time to time but the publicising and, potential, boasting seems to get up some people's noses.

I didn't read it that the OP was boasting, but I can see how some sensitive souls might think that.

Absolutely! I thought the OP was quite the most self effacing, modest, introverted, meekest character I've ever encountered on the internet. How could anyone judge him differently?

Don't be daft...if a C63 could barely keep up with an SLR on a motorway...what speed were they doing? And...is the M4 ever not busy? He was a tit for both doing it and then proclaiming it on here.

Read my post again :).....the OP stated he didnt go over the speed limit, as long as no one was in danger what's the problem?

I did read it...and how could no one have been in danger at vmax on a motorway that could not have been empty? Otherwise, I would agree.
