I was sold my car as an AMG but my friend is saying it is not?

Hi last year I bought my first mercedes at the time I wasn't aware what AMG was but the salesman said it has a higher performance engine etc so I thought great, however I have now had a disagreement with someone with him saying 'its just a body kit AMG doesn't even make c180s ... I've tried to research but cannot work it out , on my documents it says AMG but he says this still just means a body kit! My Numberplate is EY62 XON if this means anything I've looked online and says AMG sport but he just keeps telling me it's false!? :S I'm a clueless woman! Thanks lol

It's the other way around (the one up bit) for precisely that reason. Rollers were driven by Pools winners, football managers & pornographers. Bentleys were driven by old money seeking a lower profile.

Ironically, these days moneyed yobs are far more likely to drive a Bentley. Funny old world, innit?

Not real Bentleys like the Mulsanne or Flying Spur, just those horrid continentals favoured by footballers....

The Flying Spur is a four door Continental isn’t it?

I’m a big fan of the Mulsanne, it’s much closer to being an old-school Bentley from the pre VW era.

VW’s stewardship has been Very, very good for Bentley, but I still like the old-school (I’m an old fool).

Have you been in one? - Aidan on here has had one for nearly 2 years and nothing has gone wrong with it. - Hes taken me out in it and its fast, well built.

Yes, test drove one, also been chauffered in a Turbo R, Arnage, Bentley 8 (Barrymore's old car) and toured the Bentley Factory when it was part of Rolls Royce....

They are all cool in my book but there are some very odd snobby views amongst the old school sect!

Got to say I can see both of your points of view, I think it’s just the gentry tend to keep them a tad more understated, where as the limelight lovers go all out on the custom side.

I’m sure that US rapper 50 Pence or whatever he’s called has a gold Mulsanne in his collection. His name is even money! Bloody yobs!

Here he is, good ol’ Fiddy slipping under the radar looking all incognito :p:cool::D:

My point was more in relation to UK buyers, really. "An American celebrity with good taste" is an oxymoron, really, though there are plenty of them who are also oxy morons...

That was a promotional shot he did for his don't drink and drive campaign...

Ahhh, I didn’t know that, so not one of his cars. I just remembered seeing it somewhere.

Easy mistake to make.

He's not the kind of person to sport ridiculously-pimped fair.

Don't look at the trainers.
