Thanks for all your replies guys. Yes I really have been tempted to drive it through the showroom window on more than one occasion!
The crux of my problem is that I live in the Channel Islands and there is only one dealership here and no approved bodywork shop. After being fobbed off by the dealership to start with they eventually began to liaise with MB U.K. who gave them and me contradicting information. Just before Christmas I contacted the ombudsman and cc’d in both the dealership and MB U.K. as I had really had enough. This did the trick! It is booked in on the mainland for the start of February.

Thanks but the problem is partly to do with where I am based.

Thanks I did search on here initially to check that there was a problem- I found this forum invaluable!

Excellent! Sometimes the Ombudsman is the only way forward.

I’ve seen on other threads there is a 10 year paint warranty? Or is it 8 years as on here? Anyone know whether MBUK will repaint a non-UK supplied car? I know that red has its problems but it looks so great. Looking at used C Coupes, seen one I like that is not an original UK car. So looking to see if I have a safety net or an on my own

New GLA colour is Jupiter Red so hopefully shouldn’t suffer same issues as Fire Opal Red
