Wait what? So does that mean I have road side assistance/recovery from MB? I don't need AA/RAC?

I guess it's the small print in terms and conditions that will answer that. Probably have to have the car regularly serviced by a Mercedes approved garage etc? :dk:

If you're interested, for the whole of the uk on average we get 180-190 assistances in a 24 hour period. Which is probably 60/40 split between mechanical breakdowns (60) and pilot error such as incorrect fuel (we get loads), and keys locked in boot.

Just done the incorrect fuel thing :o and have to say impressed with the service. Recovery vehicle there in 45 minutes car in secure service overnight and delivered to supplying dealer next morning.

Loan C Class delivered to my door within 2.5 hours (5 days free of charge).

Have any of you actually used us?

Yes,twice on previously owned mb's,a failed camshaft sensor on my old cels 500 and a crank position sensor on my old clk320 cab.,can't complain about the service on either occasion.

Certainly does !

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo is valid on vehicles registered after 1 April 2008

Mercedes-Benz Mobilo is our way of keeping you moving. Mercedes-Benz Mobilo combines breakdown cover and roadside assistance in one convenient package.

Your Mercedes-Benz is covered by Mobilo if it was registered on or after 1 April 2008. Your car is covered for four years from the date of registration.

Want to extend your Mercedes-Benz Mobilo coverage?

Extend your technical breakdown and minor mishap coverage by getting your car serviced at a Mercedes-Benz Retailer. You can extend this coverage by up to 30 years, by staying up to date with our Recommended Service* at one of our Retailers.

Discover how you can benefit from Mercedes-Benz Mobilo in the following situations. Please click on the small grey boxes below to expand for more information.

^ Suppose it's one advantage of getting your car serviced at a main dealer rather than indie...

Yes.

But you have to tread very carefully when getting the car serviced as there is some confusion about 'value servicing' and other discount deals on offer from dealers as to whether they count towards Mobilo.

My view after my MB was out of warranty was that the Mobilo was of limited value to use when we had MBs.

(1) Where I live there is no advantage of the European / Worldwide cover provided by Mobilo as I'm unlikely to ever use my car outside the UK. (I'd hire in the destination country).

(2) The likely economic lifetime of the car was such that the 30 year corrosion warranty was meaningless.

(3) I wasn't terribly impressed with the dealer on servicing compared with the local independent specialists available.

(4) The reality of the Mobilo corrosion warranty as experienced by other forum members seems to be that you get at best one fix of a problem under goodwill.

(5) Modern MBs are galvanised [see (2)].

(6) Greenflag cover for self and other household members was a lot cheaper than the difference between dealer and independent servicing - and covered us driving other cars.

(7) The likes of Greenflag would recover us to a service workshop of our choosing and not just an MB dealer.

That said Mobilo cover is no doubt a quality service and if you need cover for driving in Europe becomes a better proposition.

But for us I felt it had no real net benefit over the alternatives. My feelinng was that the 30 year warranty is meaningless - but moreover not actually backed in the way I would expect given what I've heard of owners trying to claim on it.

electric niggles 1999 c180

1, My central locking works intermittently along with the sunroof and electric front windows.
2, NS front headlamp bulb blew, replaced bulb and fuse (to be on safe side) but still the good new bulb has not worked (others in cluster are fine). I get just a whirring noise and a click coming from the engine bay area.

Thanx for your help in advance.

Darren.

Viano 2009 roadside assist

Hi, I wonder if you can help. Purchased a 2009 Viano in 2013 from Mercedes dealer who told us that as long as we continued with Mercedes servicing we would have up to 30 years of roadside assist. For the first time had to call them out. They said we weren't covered as age of vehicle and not a passenger vehicle either! We have always serviced at our local dealer. They say we are covered, so very confused. Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated!

It matters not if it is a passenger vehicle or not; I have called Mobilo out twice for my Vito. There is a lot of confusion with MB retail who view the Viano as a commercial vehicle when it is rated as a car. The daft thing is that other than cosmetics, the Vito and Viano are the same vehicles.

I would speak to the dealer, face to face and get it cleared up; quite possibly it is an administrative issue. As long as the vehicle was Approved Used and serviced as per ad with Mb, the Mobilo stays for up to 30 years according to the blurb on the Daimler site.

Title says it all, if you have any questions fire away!

I wasn't aware there was such a service, does this come with all new cars or was it an option I missed?
