I work for MB Roadside Assistance AMA

I wasn't aware there was such a service, does this come with all new cars or was it an option I missed?

It should have been explained to you and you should have been given the contact number. New cars are automatically covered for three years, I believe.:thumb:

Nope, not a sausage...just got the contact number off the website...:)

This is one reason I keep with Mercedes and keep to the main dealers for serving my cars , such a massive peace of mind and well worth it to :thumb:

Have any of you actually used us?

At fare few times over the past 20 years and been mainly happy on most occasions , there was only one time I had been disappointed :fail but overall I'm totally happy with the service

One of those will be me haha grrr
Was when I had a W203 - options were, we break a tail light and you pay for the part or we collect your spare key for free. I was in Birmingham at the time but lived in London. Was a pleasant wait :-)

Don't know if the thread starter is still around but he mentioned that they have 35 technicians. Is that per shift, per day or just 35 technicians?

Just wondering what their average response time was in getting to the breakdown and what was the longest someone has had to wait?

IS THIS TRUE :

Excellent useful thread. Shame it is so difficult to get a clear understanding of what Mobilo actually covers from dealerships etc. Mobilo is somewhat confusing but this thread clarifies a lot. I keep my 2012 MB serviced at a main dealer precisely to maintain Mobilo cover in the UK and Europe. If Mobilo didn't cover all the things that I could get with RAC/AA, including wheel changing following a puncture etc (when on a Motorway or when wanting to keep clean) then I would use an indie for servicing. So are there any things that Mobilo will not cover that RAC/AA will?

The bit in bold is what used to make the very expensive Mercedes servicing worth it. That seems to have no disappeared but the service pricing has not dropped.

I think it is a good service, but boy do you pay for it.

Also, being taken to a Merc dealership can be quite scary when out of warranty with their 'plus it in and throw new parts at it' approach.

Mobilo is great, but overrated... ultimately it is just roadside assistance plus some bits, all of which can be purchased elsewhere.

I had Mobilo cover for my car until it was 4 years old. In addition I have always been covered by roadside assistance included with my business Credit Card, though I only ever needed to call them once in the past twenty years, and even then cancelled before they arrived because I managed to get the car going.

So yes, it's good to have, as are any of the very many alternatives.

Am I reading the bold bit right - it seems to imply if the car breaks down they fix it free?

I'm not aware that's ever been the case - IIRC they would fix it at the roadside if possible and parts of nominal value where included, but once the car was in the dealership then normal pricing applied.

I'm a bit lost with Mobilo now - I think there were four schemes at one point depending on when bought the car.

Yes, if they can fix it at the roadside, it will be done FOC.

If it requires repair at the dealership charges as normal will be made.

Only to a maximum value of £130, I had a cps replaced on a c43 roadside and was informed repairs were foc to a maximum value of £130 when I required after the repair.

I paid the mobilo chap ( he made no mention it was foc ) and then was reimbursed by my local dealer after customer services intervened.

That wording "It will also keep you mobile while your vehicle is being repaired, free of charge for labour and materials, at any Mercedes-Benz authorised workshop" - which is still on some dealers websites - can only be meant to apply while the vehicle is under warranty.
