Hi I am new to this forum.

I am trying to get my 1989 300SL back on the road after it has been laid up for 10 years!! I'll be asking for help and advice in coming days and weeks.

Join the Mercedes-Benz Club (Official Mercedes-Benz Owners Club). Not sure if your 300SL is a 107 or a 129 - 1989 was the last year for 107s, I believe. Over 3,000 SL owners there, with plenty of regular visitors to their forum and loads of free and knowledgeable advice. One member and 107 specialist currently has a thread going with dozens of detailed photographs of the work he's doing on a 107 restoration. I'm sure you would find it very interesting and becoming a Club member will easily save you more on advice and parts discounts than it would cost in annual membership.

Just noticed from your other post that yours is a 107. In that case, I definitely recommend you join the Mercedes-Benz Club!

Going on it being an 89 300SL, and not a SL300 i'd bet its a 107.... Pics please Ian...
