I would plug it into your A class and see if the car is there..

Firstly, make sure you've updated the iCarsoft software from the Internet (only possible on genuine units, not on clone/fake units).
Then, if the 177 is still not showing, you can select a similar model (preferably with the same engine, if possible). From experience, it will likely still read the fault codes from most of the ECUs, if not live data. You may need to try a few alternative models, though.
And, what model of iCarsoft do you have? There's i980, MBII, MB v2, and MB v3. You may need a newer model if you have an old one.

hi have tried it tonight and yippee it worked ,found a few codes ,cleared them just need to track down service history now , cheers for help ..
