Very nice - I fancy those 6" JL's myself! Would keep my 10" very good company.

I had considered putting a pair of those 6" JL's into mine, but when researching found that JL Audio do not rate them for use as infinite baffle speakers, which did put me off somewhat. How do they perform as a bass solution?
My current plan was to pair up either a Stage 3 Rockford Punch, or JL Audio 10W3 in a sealed enclosure with a JBL mono amp.
Top choice on the Pioneer HU...been running mine for about a year now, it never fails to impress me, and successful avoids the 'Max Power' flashy lights syndrome.

Nice little setup, The JL`s you have are pretty good, you`ll be fine with those there with 1x sub in the boot, any more and the air movement from the subs will interfere with the rear shelf units. just somehting to think about if you ever decide to put more bass in!
the system is great now it wont need a sub in the boot, the bass is already moving the car as it is and they take up too much space anyway, i run the rear 6s on the shelf from the amp running from the sub output on the head unit anyway, whilst the 6"JL mids run great from the head unit in the front door, i think i am going to replace the rear door 4" with some more JLs but not sure which one yet. the hardest part yet has been the tweeters i really wanted to get them into the original places but thats going to be alot of work, maybe in the future.
DolphiN Tech have you been able to get the dimmer to work on your HU i have followed all the instructions in handbook but its not working,
and i agree the last unit JVC had that many lights it thought it was a plane cockpit

Hmm...food for thought...having the JL's on the rear would means that the boot is always clear...but then removing a sub box from the boot is not hugely difficult. Guess I'll run the wiring up first and then pinch my old kit back from the fiancee's car for some testing!
didgit - Yes, I have got the dimmer working as per the instructions, but it is not quite what one would expect. Only the display dims, rather than all the lighting on the unit, so the lighting around the dials on the buttons stays the same brightness. From memory this was the same in my Civic, so I believe the manual is correct on this one.

didgit - would you confirm a few things about your install?
Is your C Class W202 or W203?
The subs are JL 6W0-D4?
If it is a W202, was it necessary to cut the shelf to make room for the terminals on the 6W0?
As for the front, the standard 6" mids in the doors have a custom bracket to support them. If you replaced these, is it possible to fit 6.5"... and is there much depth? Who makes the custom mounts for the front doors?

Murray System - yes the car is a W202
i had to cut about one + half inch either side of centre for the terminals to clear, the rear adaptors took quite some work to fit the speakers into. Doh i feel right daft now the front mids are in fact 6 1/2" JL TR 650csi
the adaptors are both made by Autoleads

the tweeter is just too big!
i made a template in mdf but was not happy with it, i will be trying again some time
but the sound quality is just as good with them mounted on the door, ( use rvm sticky pads from halfords) its just i wanted the stealth look ie; as factory.

without a shadow of a doubt the two 6"
1. Uses original mounting positions
2. No decrease in boot space
3. Moves air within the cabin space directly
4. Smaller cones so punchier
5. JL W0 series although 'entry level' - still great subs
6. More wife and girlfriend friendly

LOL...ta muchly for that...my decision making abilities sometimes leave me just at the wrong moment.
6) isn't a problem thankfully...the wife-to-be complains just as much as I do about the woeful lack of punch from the current hifi!
