So it's a US-spec MB, with an expected vMax of not more than 85mph. It has gear change (or rather max revolutions in gear) indices too. So a 4-speed transmission, probably manual.

I'm going with a big heavy diesel. W123, late '70s, early '80s?


Edit: Changed my mind. Same big diesel, but W115, mid-'70s.

I drove my brothers 84 Camaro over there in 86, and he told me that.
Could have been an urban myth, or perhaps he didn't want me driving his car too fast!
