Idiot in a BMW M140

Hi , well I suppose we have all been guilty of transgressions when driving. I was taught to be a defensive driver, observe other drivers and antispate their actions.

I watch sad TV and sometimes watch dash cam incedents , unbelievable springs to mind what can been seen.It would be interesting if a survey were taken in how many of the drivers caught on camera have driving licences and road legal cars.

In some of them countries you'd be surprised with what is classed as road legal

On behalf of the calmer contingent of BMW drivers - yes, we exist, and we USE our indicators (where it can be of use to another road user - Roadcraft) I would like to apologise.

It is ALWAYS the 1 series that gives the rest of us a bad name, but usually it is the 116 / 118 contingent. Fortunately, these muppets are often unused to the handling characteristics of a rear wheel drive car, so generally can be relied on to depart the tarmac, backwards, into hedges or trees.

Not a lot has changed really though has it. There’s always been that contingent of total nutters, who spend their entire existence pi$$ing everybody else off. They’ll race anything, in anything no matter what the consequences. Older as I am, I still love to move at speed, but these days not to the detriment of anybody else hopefully. 😎
I’m still debating wether to debadge the 350 but, those chrome letters on it’s posterior seem to keep some of the twerps at bay. 🤔

The model letters on the boot more often give rise to the nutters wanting to race. As noted earlier, its usually the smaller sporty models that need to prove they are quick.
Long ago I'd have entertained that but I value my licence too much and lets be clear, every car with one or two exceptions are capable of breaking the NSL. With the amount of cameras around its not worth losing your licence or totting up points on a pointless (see what I did there) race.
No idea on the top speed of a M140i., but I would expect in a road race it would be the one who was prepared to keep his foot in that would win. Not necessarily the one with the fastest car.

I'm looking at Blackvue and Nextbase front facing dashcams deciding what suits my needs bet.

True that a nissan micra would win with the right idiot init🤣

Right enough.
I remember well a few years back, late on going north on the M1, thinking jeez he’s moving as lights came up on me very quickly from behind, and as a 911 passed at a proper tilt, glued to his rear was a series II Clio 182 with its headlights on full beam.

Pretty sure they would top out at 160/165.

I've had a front and rear BV in my car and Mrs John's cars since Summer 2019.

Excellent units.

My only complaint would be the seemingly-extortionate cost of the BV upgrade micro SD cards for storage.

Happens every day. Let it pass,
If you have an AMG there's nothing to prove, unless you come alongside an Aston with the little 4 litre AMG mill.
Except he drives an AM and you drive a MB ;) - I know which I’d rather have and it’s not a MB.

Rant over, and I'm ready to listen to how I should have reacted;):D

Well well well... if it isn't the AMGeed, hogging the right lane again and forcing people to undertake on the left? Not like we've heard that one before!

😄

Unfortunately the cheap dash cam I had in my E55 packed up.
You are right, his careless driving would have been filmed for evidence.

Off to amazon to check dash cams next;)

Paul..yep its the small nippy cars that seem to get the aggressive drivers. They probably have a small appendage too.
Last week it was an M2 wanting to race:wallbash:
I thought it was the ”big car “ drivers that were “lacking” ;) . At least that’s my position anyway:rolleyes:

There's always somebody bigger and better,in my early years i would fight for fun given the job i was in ,now its totally different story not worth the hassle especially with the amount of knifes etc on the streets
Read this again & take note. Google UK Road rage attacks to realise the wisdom of swallowing pride, not re-acting, keeping your trap shut, resisting childish gestures & maybe even keeping your doors locked. Low-life losers or those needing to be noticed are often seeking confrontation just for the buzz, so don't give them the satisfaction. By absolutely ignoring such behaviour ensures you retain the higher ground because nobody likes to be ignored.

This^^ 👍
It sometimes takes some doing when an absolute ************(insert your own fave derogatory noun here) does something amazingly stupid in front of you, but the feeling of superiority that comes with ignoring it is pleasantly calming.

Top grade advice. It’s also the best way to deal with bullies at all ages. A bully’s sole aim in life is to get a reaction; confirmation that others are aware of them. The macho dads advise their kids to hit back, but that just encourages the bully to keep going for more attention seeking. They soon grow tired of being ignored and give up.

Of course there are those who are so thick or detached from reality that they‘re not aware of having done anything wrong, so there’s a strong temptation to alert them to their errors. But flashing lights, blasting horns and waving fists does nothing to educate them, so not worth the blood pressure.

Ignoring the indiscretions is the best way but I can never resist a smile, which is likely to unsettle the miscreant far more.

In my area of London usually BMW1 and Audi A1 drivers are wannabe Colin McRae/idiots. Glad to see you managed to restraint yourself from racing the nutter.
My penneth on this Undertake on roundabouts.Three times so far Range Rover. (Blond. God's gift to man) BMW. then Audi. Cars I know are owned by racing drivers AUDI. BMW. MERCS. Followed by FORDS. Strangely they never seem to end up being towed.
