Not nearly as tacky as that rubbish they started writing on the headlamps etc, couldn't believe it when I saw it on the front of a £100k SL this morning. It's the sort of thing the Japanese realised was a bad idea 20 years ago.

Have to admit I do sometimes cringe at the "V8 Kompressor" on the sides of mine but no way it's coming off

i know im gonna cause a tantrum here, but the illumiated logo is not half bad..

i just saw some vids on it.. and you know what.. i retract my previous comments..

I like it.. and it does work.. its a subtle backlight, not an in your face hologram and its not a sticker..

im now a thumbs up..

Bear in mind also that, as standard, it's only designed to illuminate when locking/unlocking the car, in the same way as follow-me-home lights work. It's not supposed to be lit while the car is being driven (although I suspect anyone with access to a STAR machine could make it so...).

It turns off when you start the engine so its only on when you open or lock the car.
