The season gods rang... they said Summer's been canceled as we haven't paid our season bill... someone needs to sacrifice a BMW...
Seriously, though - I think convertibles are going for little now only due to the fact 'monsoon' weather is predicted right through to late July and even if it was sunny this one's hood won't open. Aside from the engine being a bit grubby and the interior being a bit care-worn I can't see much else wrong with it, the mileage isn't very high for a W124 at all and the paint though not in the most popular of colours looks to be in good condition with no visible rust (at least on mine you could see the rust from the other end of the street)

The milege shows its been used rather than tucked away in a garage every autumn. What could the hood fault be?

Expensive.
Poverty spec, highish miles, hood fault and the wrong engine. £4k isn't a bargain for that.
