For ages I'd been finding it increasingly difficult to unlock and lock the car doors and after changing the battery (CR2025) and seeing little improvement I'd begun to suspect something expensive was wrong... 
It turns out that the 'new' battery was duff, as I recently bought some new batteries and fitted one in the key fob and it cured the issue instantly. It's nice to have a 12p fix instead of an expensive fix sometimes! 8 batteries at the 99p shop did the trick. Lovely jubbly
