Hi,

The picture below is one of the ignition coils that was removed from my W208 CLK 320 as cylinder 6 was throwing a random misfire code.

Coil replaced and issue with the car now sorted, I'm wondering however if the blue residue (presumably oxidisation of the copper) could've caused the problem in the first place?

Would it be possible to remove and clean the connections of the other coils?

I adopt a policy of cleaning every electrical contact I can get to with a good quality switch/contact cleaner. Good practice and seems to pay dividends for me in terms of smooth idle and, generally, reliable operation of electrics.

Ray yes. And along with all the earth points. And fuses in my case ..
