I have to replace the ignition switch after experiencing electrical issues. I have removed the old switch from the dash and disconnected all the wires except one. It’s the connector with just one thick wire attached to it. I’ve looked on eBay for a replacement switch and noticed that the switches on there have all wires removed except for the one I’m having problems with so there must be a special way to remove it. Any ideas please?
Thanks

I think you are looking at the pipe that controls the headlight adjustment. Purple in colour and a very tight fit, warm it up with a heat gun and it should come off.

Thanks for reply. I don’t think it’s that. The connector is attached to the switch not the headlight adjuster. I have removed switch and it’s just hanging below dashboard and connected by just this one wire.

Is it the interlock cable to the gear selector? Makes it impossible to remove the key unless it’s in park.

Senior moment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking of the light switch................... :fail:
That’s okay. I found the solution on YouTube. Problem solved.

Sorry. Thought I did. Just squeeze the two pins on top and push. It will come free. I was pulling it.
