Good evening,
I have a question that I am hoping some of you more experienced enthusiasts might be able to help answer please.
I bought my 2013 S204 c250 Amg sport plus a few months ago in the summer, it is only now that I am really using the headlamps regularly. I have not noticed the headlamp cornering feature not working when negotiating bends in the roads. The car is doing its little headlamp dance when starting and the beams do move from left to right and visa versa, so I am assuming that all is well with the motors inside the headlamp. Now the confusing bit for me is this.... I plugged in my scanner tool to see if there is anything showing and when I set up the scanner to do a manual scan it showed 38 control units and there being a left and right headlamp control unit on the list, now when I done an auto scan it came back with only 37 control units registering with the scanner and there only being a left hand control headlamp control unit. I went back into the manual setting and tried to scan the right hand hand one but it says that the control unit is either not connected to the car or check that the car has one. I did a scan on the left one and it was giving me information for the right headlamp but mainly the xenon headlamp info, if this is the case does the car still use the control units on the right headlamp? I ask this as I know they are fitted to both headlamps and a car manufacturer would not fit unneeded parts. My other query leads on from this, does the black control units on the bottom of the headlamp assembly control the cornering features as well as the LED side lights and would the right hand control unit not talking to the rest of the network cause the loss of the cornering feature? Everything else works fine on both headlamps including the sidelamps which begs the question what does that control unit actually control. If anybody can help unravel this mystery for me I would be very gratefu.l
Thanks in advance
