it does, driven the E500 coupe with the same engine and it has a lovely woofle and overengined feel

The engine note is a very civilised woofle, unlike the AMG V8s that bark and snarl as the revs climb.
Considering the capacity of this engine, it is very understressed. It will never be a sport saloon but as a motorway cruiser with the ability to snap overtake with a flex of the right ankle, it's splendid.
Around town, £ for performance, the 350CDI beats it hands down. However, there's something about a big V8 powered Merc that makes it so very desirable
And it looks great
