@del320 hopefully you are “David Gandy” [Never heard of him - had to Google] good looking, and from your lofty beautiful perch, [] feel qualified and entitled []to ridicule a child who has probably done more to highlight a global issue in a year, [Please list her positive achievements that have had a positive outcome] than you and all of your family, in the past 50 years [Mmm, that's a pretty wild assumption - without a scintilla of evidence...] bravo.

...carry on...

Was she a public figure 5 years ago?
Her mother was a well known opera singer in Sweden and represented Sweden in the 2009 Eurovision song contest. When her daughter became ill with AS she became a focus of media attention in Sweden so was already well known before taking her present stance on the environment.

Tenuous.

Asperger's is not something you "get better" from.

The fact she has it probably makes it easier for her to say what's really going on in the world in a direct way without concerning herself with their reactions, the haters and trolls.

I'm not sure I understand why she should solve all the problems she is drawing attention to.

World leaders as well as all of us have the power to change things if interested in doing so.

Anyway, there is no such thing as "The Climate Emergency".:)

Apart from a device for large companies to make lots of money and governments to rake in lots of taxes.

Without the large polluting countries on board, what difference will it make to the planet?

And, as mentioned by others, over-population is more of a threat.

I hear that a lot but all the more reason to keep trying I would say.

Plenty of people will tell you climate change is rubbish.

Plenty of people will tell you climate change is real.

My view on this is what humans are doing in the last 200 years is completely different to what they've done previously.

Do I believe climate change is real? No one knows for sure whether climate change is real or not yet.

I would rather assume it is and the world work towards trying to prevent it then leaving things as they are and finding out it was real after all and by then it is too late to act.

Does anyone in the Sailing Fraternity know:

What Material the Suit Greta Thunberg used/wore to cross the Ogin is made of?

it looks like Neoprene foul weather gear, as she is not an experienced sailor its likely she had to wear that low temperature stuff for her crossing, we use Stormr for our crew outside of the tropics, specifically the Stryker jacket (The lobster boys in the North Atlantic wear it so it does what it says on the tin). Slam also make a good range, but being italian, a bit trendy and specifically for rag flappers (sail boat folk) they know how to charge for their gear...

Greta is a cretin from a socialist utopia and her opinions are no more or less valid than anyone else on the planet. I'm paying four figures in road tax annually for my cars so she can have a large portion of STFU as far as I am concerned.
