Image says it all

Hmm, didn't know about that little "detail".

What on Earth are they pumping into the M5 sound-wise?

I was referring to outside sound in my post.

It's a V8 TT for gawd sake... :dk:

I still like the look of it though.

You call a car that has to send out fake sounds from the speakers a world class car!!! Wow!

I have not driven an E63 for comparison I must admit but this sound piping nonsense doesn't particularly bother me much. I'm more interested in the drive.

No way, the Mfree is the best car eva, I read it on a magazine

No you read that on Cutters :D

I'll buy you one if you stop annoying everybody.

Since lewyboy doesn't want it, can I have it ?

We need the best of two worlds

McDonald's fries with a Burger King burger

Feel and comfort of BMW (/cheap servicing) with the look of mercedes

Comfort of a BMW ??? Seriously.

They are rough as feck.

Off course you can.

116d is generous what about the 114?

Haven't been a bimmer boy since 2008 but I had a 330ci with every extra ticked, beautiful cream leather and it was just like a sofa to drive. Effortless, comfy, admittedly my first 'proper' car coming away from boy racer'ish cars but I loved it

I don't feel that comfiness in the MB, but they look a thousand times better than BMW's :)

Drive one, I had the pleasure of driving a E63S round Thurxton, epic car when pushed to the limit.

I was shocked at how quickly it gained on a C63 in the straights.

My business partner has an M6, same engine as the M5, no patch on the AMG 63s, if I had to be fair and give it a plus I'd say the transmission is really nice, really fast snappy changes, E63 is still fast at changes but a bit more relaxed, I'd say it sits in the middle which makes it a better road car.

No idea what cutters is?

You could give BMW an AMG engine and they'd even manage to somehow make even that sound shiite.

I find the sound of the new M3/4 offensive, it's that bad it's as though they've made it that bad on purpose.

They should of stuck to making motorbikes I guess lol

I mean the last gen E90 M3 V8 never even sounded like a V8.

They did make the V10 in the previous M5/6 cars which sounded great tbf but they stuck a SMG gearbox which kinda ruined it!

I didn't mind the SMG II box, it was on a different planet to the whiplash-fest SMG I that was in the E46 EmFree, that should have come with a health warning.

Yeah baby

I have had some Mercedes AMG cars.

I now have an M5, my first BMW.

I have some other cars too.

I like lots of different cars and appreciate various aspects of all of them.

I don't understand the whole "fanboy" thing. It does rather make people who I am sure are perfectly decent folk sound like *****.

After the E46 and E39, BMW went downhill, only the latest 3 is appealing to me.
