Imminent Purchase of a 2011 – 2014 C350 AMG Sport Coupe

I also do a lot of city centre parking so the smaller the better. Can be a pain with the bigger cars. We have an Ml and thats a bugger to park in towns.

The C207 isn't bigger than the W204 that it is based on, but the coupe will be more difficult to park due to limited rear visibility, unless you rely on driver aids (parking sensors plus camera, or Parking Assist etc).

Yup, whilst based on essentially the same chassis, the C class is a little smaller than the e class coupe (and why I bought the e class.....)

Not seen many c class coupes with the M276 3.5 CGI, so good luck / hunting

Thanks Fabes. Your right, very few around as I wont black is even harder. got to be one out there soon.

Still Looking for C350 Amg Coupe. How hard can it be. So few cars. Where these made in ltd numbers ?

Yes - very limited demand for them new.

MB was all about diesel at that time.

You can probably buy a MB warranty for less than the dealer markup

buy the owner not the car...

BOUGHT ONE.

Well bought one today and would you believe its the very car I missed out on back in the summer. Picking it up sometime next week / weekend.

Will post pics when I have it home.

Here it is, feeling very pleased with myself after such a long search.

Broke all my own rules and bought it privately so god help me. Done about four hundred miles in it and all seems well. Only issue I can find is the air con feels week so that will need looking at. Needs a b Service so will ne sorting that over the next couple of weeks..

Want to add speed camera alerts but need to work out how to do it.

All I can say is what a car. Hoping the weekend coming is fine so I can get out and give it the customary wash and polish. Will post more pictures after that. Been doing a mostly motorway driving since I have had it so its quite dirty given the recent weather.

Have not been this excited about a new (to me) car for a long while.

Does it have COMAND NTG4.5 or Audio20?

If COMAND, then speed cameras are not officially supported, but you can add these (sort of) using Personal POI. See for example:

If Audio20, then the Becker Map Pilot store online will have a proper speed cameras add-on.

Also, the grille looks aftermarket (similar to the one I fitted to my W204), looks nice on the car.

Hi Markjay,

According to the vin data it has,

Option 527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION and Option 81p COMAND WITH NAVIGATION UPDATE. Not sure what NTG code is as not yet had chance to go through the handbooks.

Got this info from a vin decoder site so not sure how actuate the codes are.

I believe I have to download the data on to a sd card and upload to the system. Need to do my research on this as there is info online but from a quick look around its advice is wide and conflicting.

Yes the grill is aftermarket. The seller said the original grill would come with the car but on collection he said it was in storage and he had not had a chance to get it, he said he would post it to me but I can see that going on e bay before I get it.

I also quite like the grill that's on it, so thank you. Not too bothered about getting the original one as I probably would never put it on the car anyway. Would have been a nice to have and put in the man cave (shed) as an ornament.

The coupe originally came with the two-louvre grille (as opposed to the three-louvre grille on the saloon).

The grille you have now is the 'C63-style', yours is the black version, I went for the version that has a chrome star and chrome surround.

I am not pretending that my car is anything but the C180 that it is :) but personally I find that the 'mesh' black grille looks much fresher and more suitable for the car.

It's a good idea to keep the original grille. A future buyer might be put-off by the aftermarket grille, and definitely dealers (should you trade it in) will prefer to see an original and unmodified car.

Your car is equipped with COMAND Online NTG4.5.

As of mid-2013, TomTom Live traffic subscription was added, and if your car has that then you'll have option 'B54 MBCONNECT - REAL-TIME TRAFFIC DATA' on your datacard. Otherwise the Navigation will use the free TMC traffic service, which is a bit basic and only covers motorways and main roads.

The COMAND unit can also connect to the Internet via Bluetooth tethering to your mobile phone, but support for iPhone was only added in mid-2013 so earlier units can only connect to the Internet via Android or Nokia phones.

You can choose to upgrade the firmware on COMAND, but it requires STAR so it's a job for the dealer or specialist. You can update the maps though, the current version is V19.0, released in November 2019.

Thanks for the link, will get decent SD card over the next few days and will have a go on the weekend and report if it worked.

BTW, option '81P COMAND WITH NAVIGATION UPDATE' stands for free maps update for the first 3 years, but this option has long expired now so it's not really relevant any more.

Just keep in mind that it will simply display the locations of speed cameras on the map. But it's not linked to the navigation (because it's in fact just POIs), so it won't know to warn you specifically of speed cameras on your route, instead you'll just need to keep an eye on the map.

You can set up an audible alarm when a POI is within certain radius, but again it will beep also for cameras that are within range but not actually on your route.

Anyway... it's the only option.

Some warning is better than none I guess.
