I am currently researching.
I want to import a used left hand drive 1995 or 1996 W124 3 litre Turbo Diesel Estate.
In order to get the car registered, I will need to show (amongst other things) that the car has a Certificate of Conformity (CoC). There are 2 types : EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval (aka ECWVTA) or the relevant German equivalent.
It seems to me that since the car is used and 8 years old that I might have to ask MB in germany for this. So does anybody have any personal experience of this sort of thing? Can point me in the right direction? When did MB start to use ECWVTAs instead of the german equivalent?
Just in case you’re wondering, I’m going to drive to Moscow via Scandinavia in 2005 , and onwards to Vladivostock in 2006 .
All help gratefully received
