Mercedes CLK320 w209
Hi all,
I new to this place. Just bout a CLK 2002 w209 320 a few weeks ago.
The previous owner didnt look after it too well so I making it my experiment. I am trying to improve the performance of the car.

Been reading on adding on a M112 supercharger which seems doable, except for the heavy cost.
Wondering if there's other alternatives (which may not be as effective).
Or am I better off selling it and buying a slightly better one... (which I dont really want to do).

Any one give good advice out there???..... HELP:dk:

Sell and buy an AMG version....It will be less expensive and more trouble free in the long run.

The 320 is not exactly slow.

As you have said that it has not been looked after well then perhaps new plugs (12 of them) and new air filters ( 2 of them) and a full service may help? Going to a specialist with Star and getting a full diagnostic many also help if there are other components that are not operating as intended.

The 3.2 litre Mercedes engine that was supercharged is different in a number of ways and, as has been said, it would not be an economic proposition to do this to your current vehicle unless you just want a project and the time and money is not an issue.

If, after a service, plug and filter change etc you still want more performance then find a CLK55 that will also have uprated suspension and brakes.

RBYCC - Thanks, been hearing that a lot. Thought there may be an alternative. Seems not.

DSM10000 - Thanks, I have had full service. I will get the plugs and air filters changed and see what happens.

Depending on mileage and history (or lack of it) it may be worth getting the transmission fluid changed.

Not all Independents do this this thoroughly, you need to drain the torque convertor and then use Star to monitor the temperature of the fluid as it is filled. If you let us know where in London you are then I am sure members will be able to point you in the direction of a good Indie.

Thanks DSM10000 for that!
I'm located in south/south east London. I'm often in between Vauxhall and sydenham areas.
If anybody knows of any recommended places where I can get the transmission fluid changed....?? :dk:
