So, here's my dilemma...
I want a clean install of my iPod Touch with Comand 2... Here's what I'm thinking:
- Fixed mount above the phone cradle
- Fixed power cable
- Fixed audio out to connect to Comand 2 AUX
Man, I had hard times finding a non-cigarette plug mount without FM transmitter and audio out...
Here's what I found after hours of googling:
- Brodit 847861 Holder with Pass-Through Connector
- Brodit 652787 ProClip Angled mount
- Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod; iPhone 1G, 3G
(Sorry no links, as I wasn't sure if it was allowed, I'll update the post with links if it's ok)
The plan:
- attach the ProClip mount above the OEM phone cradle
- use the pass-through connector holder
- attach the LiquidAUX with the connector holder
- remove the cigarette lighter plug from the LiquidAUX and use the combo cable to connect the charger cable cleanly into power behind the console and the audio cable to Comand AUX
The bonus with the LiquidAUX is that it comes with a BlueTooth remote that can be attached to a steering wheel. Apparently iPod Touch 2G has a built-in BT which will be activated in the 3.0 software update (for Touch the update is announced to be $9.99, so prolly £9.99 here)
Price of all the parts is around £120.
I think this is a quite clean and affordable package...
