alfa romeo giulietta qv launch edition
Hi all, I'm currently looking at buying a new car and have whittled my choice down to either a C63 AMG or Lexus IS-F.
My budget is around the £22-24k mark which should get me a 2007-2009 saloon with under 60k on the clock.
One particular one that interests me is a light blue 2009 one (exact colour name?) at a garage called Platinum Autos in Buckinghamshire. It's listed both on Autotrader and eBay if anyone is interested in taking a look at the ad for me and giving their opinion.
Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 4dr - Rare Colour | eBay

How do I find out if it is affected by the head bolt issue I've read so much about and Does the spec on this one look good? (what different specs are there?)
I'm in no rush to buy so want to get as much info on the cars as possible before I decide on one.
Anything in what to look for, servicing and running costs etc would be much appreciated.

It's been for sale for approx 2-3 months

Looks a nice car with good spec however miles are in the higher side for similar cars/prices - but offset thus against the PO options

Coolant loss is a tell take sign of headvokt issues but it isn't overly common but is still a rush - factor in a good wArranty

Ps I like that colour ...a lot

Brakes are expensive
Tyres too and you will go through them relatively quickly

Did you see this one ?

That blue one was for sale September last year.

You need to find out if the engine number is lower than 60658. Engines above this number are unaffected.

As above , lovely colour. Not a C63 owner myself, so can't really comment on the other aspects of your post. Good luck if you go for it.

The black 60 plate one is an option but the white one is too expensive....my upper limit is £24k.
Ideally i would like to buy from a dealer so i have some sort of warranty and i believe the black one is private?
Wonder why the blue one is for sale again if was up in September...its been up for a while this time round too.

StuartK might sell his.

Can you send me the full spec and photos of you are selling StuartK

Had this off the blue one for sale. Does it fall in the engines that could suffer from head bolt failure?

I am selling my white 2010 PPP with 58k, full merc history for 25k if you can stretch a bit, its immaculate original condition.

I don't think I can stretch to that mate. Will need another couple of months to save the extra.
Anyone know if the blue one on eBay would be fitted with one of the engines with the head bolt issue from the details on the photo I uploaded?

Don't let the head bolts put you off buying 1 my girl is 87k supercharged and always driven lively and no issues whatsoever.
Has been a joy to own.

^ Looking at your image and reading the last 5 digits I'd say it does fall into the batch of possible suspect head bolts.
If you are still really interested in the car, why not think about getting a MB warranty that would cover the issue if it ever arose.

does the car need to have a FMBSH to have an extended aftermarket Mercedes warranty?

You can pay for them to make a multi point check where they check everything and recommended what's need repairing in order for them to warrant the car.
But honestly I wouldn't bother just save some money a side for any expensive repair.

Yes if you have valid concerns this is when warranty, buying from a dealership etc comes into play. Its so easy to get carried away when buying a car you forget about what may happen after you've handed over your well earned.

Buy the PPP car.
