Any one tried their website for parts? You now fill in a request and it goes to your choice of local dealer. They say that they will reply within two hours. Well that was yesterday and still nothing. I would have expected better particularly that I have been a regular customer of theirs for 11 years. They couldn't even come up with a set of tyres.

Now there’s a coincidence I’ve just joined and a question about Inchcape parts.

I sent a request and got the same “we will reply in working 2 hours” it was a Sunday so wasn’t expecting it that quick but Wednesday came and nothing so I replayed to their reply and I’m still waiting, that was 2 weeks ago.

Not in any hurry for the parts but will probably now look elsewhere, have another dealer a similar distance away.

I bought parts from a couple of official MB delaer sites in Germany, they charged me €19.95 for 48 hours delivery, and some of their parts were considerably cheaper than UK prices so it was a good buy overall.

The funny thing is that I wasn't actually looking for cheaper prices as such, but the items I needed were all out of stock locally, do I cast my net wider and was very happy with my catch!

MB Grangemouth and MB Newcastle are still my go to dealers for discounted parts.
Both are quick to reply and deliver.

I also sent a price request through at the time of posting the old thread, still haven't heard back! Maybe the emails are not being directed correctly.

Luckily my local dealer's parts department are good and their 'parts specialist' gave me his email so I can just email numbers and get prices.

For best prices though, see @AMGeed's post above

Not just me then. I gave up waiting and phoned our local Mercedes commercial dealer as the parts I wanted were common. Came straight back with a price so I don't think I will be using Inchcape again.

what's the best dealershop with discounts to use in UK for web orders?
can you please link them

Grangemouth, Southend (I think) and Newcastle will all do phone orders. MB Newcastle also have an ebay shop.

There are no online parts ordering sites in the UK that I know of.

I think the point is that Inchcape offer one but for some inexplicable reason it doesn't work. Can't imagine what they are thinking of shouldn't someone tell them? Or how about everyone does bound to have some effect when they realise the loss of sales. Although when I tried to use them for the 450 parts they really weren't interested. They used to have a trade site didn't they? The only one I can find is this retail one.

found them on ebay

thanks

Well today the engine diagnostic light came on with limp mode. Rang Inchcape 3 times no one was answering their phones. Eventually got through and tried to book it in, put on hold, then asked for registration, I have been a customer for 11 years, and then cut off. This has happened several times before and when queried during the summer was told the phone system does that some times. Went to collect the parts I had ordered from the local Mercedes commercial dealer and the comparison could not have been more different. Really helpful so after trying to deal with Inchcape I rang them to see if they could do anything. They checked and said no because their software couldn't read it as it was "car specific software" but referred me to their car division so phoned and booked in with no delay. Looks like they will be servicing it from now on even though they are 40 miles away.
